Posted - Feb 15 2024 : 11:05:13 AM I was sent a bread machine to test. Anyone have a special recipe you'd care to share? The machine does 1 lb, 1.5 lb and a 2 lb Loaves. It has whole wheat and whole grain settings which I use for rye breads, too. Throw something at me. Will share photos!

Posted - Feb 18 2024 : 1:27:51 PM Bread machines require 80° water temp, careful measurement of flour, order of ingredients, etc. I hand made bread for a long time. this is just fun for me to see what works! I use SAF instant yeast which works with the 80° water temp. I used it with hotter water, so I don't worry about it working. It's putting 4 or more cups of flour, rye, whole wheat, etc is interesting to see it knead.

Posted - Feb 18 2024 : 03:39:21 AM I make lots of bread, but not in a bread machine. 4 cups warm water, 2 tablespoons yeast, oil, sugar, salt, and 10 cups of flour. Good luck with your machine.

Posted - Feb 17 2024 : 5:35:31 PM I love the Prepared Pantry bread mixes and all their mixes used the Basic/White bread button. Tested the Peasant Bread recipe which uses rye, white whole wheat and bread flours. Honey, some brown sugar went in, plus oil. I don't use butter (my pref). I have a grain grinder and do my wheat berries. I need to test sweet bread, French, gluten free, dough yet. Such fun!

Posted - Feb 17 2024 : 12:56:06 PM I got a bread machine for making gluten free bread back when I was on a gluten free diet for IBS. It was fun; way different than making bread the old fashioned way. Unfortunately I never quite made a satisfactory gluten free bread so the bread machine is out in the garage on the shelf of seldom-used appliances. If I find a good keto recipe it might come back into the light.

Posted - Feb 17 2024 : 06:32:35 AM How excited to be selected to test a bread machine. I usually just use pre mix for my bread machine... I am very interested in any recipes that get posted.
