Posted - Sep 07 2023 : 05:29:01 AM The harvest is on. I have been drying onions, and will keep some for fresh and freeze some. Tomatillos are starting and will do a batch of salsa verde. Corn will be picked and froze this weekend. Tomatoes are on the table ripening, as a chipmonk is helping himself to the low ripe ones. I did a canner of tomato juice this week. Next up will be sauce and paste. Freezing green peppers as they ripen too. Waiting on a few watermelons that I have growing. I hope they ripen before frost. Otherwise most of the garden is actually done.

Posted - Oct 17 2023 : 09:04:31 AM I picked all the Marconi peppers, don't think they will ripen Last week I picked rest of the tomatoes and they are in a sunny window. I was able to use a lot of the ripened tomatoes in a soup As tomatoes ripen I'll put in freezer to enjoy in a soup all winter. 36* today. But this weekend high 70's. Herbs still producing so I'll leave in garden for now. Who has big plans for next year's garden?
Today's good mood brought to you by a lot of coffee!!!

Posted - Oct 12 2023 : 03:03:13 AM Connie we have been close to freezing, 33 is the lowest so far. That was spotty frost that morning. My brother in law came with his big tiller and tilled the garden for us. It is on his garden tractor, so four passes and it is powder. Nice to have it cleaned up for the year. Glad too that I had been working on cleaning out the left over plants, vines, and weeds lol. I have a few tomatoes on my outside table that can be done now and that is a wrap. I did seed save some sting beans.

Posted - Sep 11 2023 : 10:06:13 PM Michele, when do you expect a frost? I am in mid-Missouri and we won't have one for quite a while. I do still need to get all my apples picked off the trees tho.
