I am looking for a good basic bagel recipe that still is soft when toasted. I have had no luck with ones that I purchased . So I decided to learn to make them. Any pointers? From what I have read so far, it includes boiling! And then baking? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

Blessings

I used to make bagels quite often. It does include putting them in boiling water. Mix, let rise, shape, let rise, boil, then bake. Brushing them with an egg wash also. They are easy to make, but you need to pay attention to timing through it all. I will see if I can find my recipe.
