Hi girls!

I'm absolutely in love with Rose Petal Tea from Republic of Teas... SO much so, that I recently bought it in loose leaf bulk! Every morning I make a lovely little pot of this heavenly tea - it's the perfect way to start the day! And if I need a pick me up in the afternoon, but don't have time to brew more, I will just go open up the jar and breathe it in. It makes me feel alive and girly! And I absolutely love it with raspberry scones with raspberry jam! Mmmm - M! Some things in life are just too good, don't you think?

What's your favorite tea? Do you brew it in a cup or in a pot? When is your favorite time of day to take tea? Do you have any favorite accompaniments?

Also... My cousin is looking for a really great White Earl Grey tea - not winter white, just white... Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hugs,

Nini

I enjoy my tea about 3:00 in the afternoon. But if not, definetly around 8:00 p.m. It is so soothing before bedtime. I don't care too much for flavor tea, I'm basically your plain jane when it comes to drinking hot tea.

Put your hair up in a bun, drink some coffee and handle it.

I have not met a tea I have not enjoyed! My pantry is full of different kinds and seems I purchased more with each visit to the market! Sweet Hubba hubba supports my habit! Lol!

My favorite tea at the moment is a peach tea, plus a muellin and peppermint. I love to look at tea room pictures, host teas, and enjoy the fellowship. Something about steeping a good cup of tea.

I collected fresh dandelion blossoms today, on my way out to the barn. Can you tell me how to make tea with them? Do I dry them first or use them fresh?
HealingTouch Posted - Feb 20 2020 : 11:10:08 PM
The tea room looks fabulous! We don't have one near me. I'll have to investigate!
The Stash Chai Spice is my favorite. I like many of the Stash teas.
I was just at a local thrift store and they have peaked my interest in tea cups and saucers. Some very pretty ones are calling me back! I think I'm
going to start buying them as I see them and fill them with different teas and give them for birthdays, Raok, recovery from an illness or just because!
I'm also toying around with a Fall or Christmas tea and letting the tea cups go home with the guest . I better start collecting! The ones I saw looked
like they were never used! What do you think?

It's in Greensburg, PA, Nicole... It's my favorite place... Right now it's closed until sometime in March, I think! :( I'm dying to go back soon! That'd be so much fun for us to do!! I miss you, too! Time is just not my own nowadays! But I'll always make time for tea! LOL! That tearoom just melts all the cares away!

Oh that looks so cozy and perfect! I want to go there! Maybe someday soon, Nini, I miss you!

Lately, I have been drinking Jasmine Green tea. I am finding I really like jasmine.

What city is that tea room in, Nini?

Awww! What a GERAT post, Nicole! Someday we are definitely going to do tea together!

I am so glad you are all enjoying this as much as I am - I love hearing all about your tea love! I have to admit.. I have only had chai once, and it was the grossest thing I've ever sipped! Maybe it was just a bad one... I'd love to learn more! Please share recipes!!!

Here are some pics of my favorite local tea room. It's called The Victorian Lady of Academy Hill in Greensburg, PA. I have yet to find one more charming and wonderful. I think I went seven times over the Christmas holiday with different friends. I had sent out a text to see if anyone would be interested, and everyone who wanted to go couldn't get there on the same dates, so... Merry Christmas to Me! LOL!!!

There are just so many pictures, it's hard to choose! What I can tell you, though, is that once you're there, all your cares melt away, you become extremely relaxed and contented. You feel very special - very feminine - very much a lady. It's an experience that everyone should have at least once in their lifetime, for sure! It's wonderful to hostess teas at home - I LOVE to do that! But there's just something about this whole experience... Everyone I've taken just loves it there - young and old! And these ladies who own and run the place are absolute angels!

Hugs -

Hi Nini, I love tea, too. I drink iced tea all year and hot tea often, especially in winter. I love Rose tea, too. I think you would like to see the blog I wrote on”All Things Tea”:

Speaking of Tea... my grands and I had Noon Tea today, Winter Spice (loose tea), so they got to choose which tea strainer they wanted to use.
Also, I had bought a box of sugar cubes.... which they LOVE!(have to keep an eye on the kids or they will eat the cubes! lol!)
and as always , I made a small batch of sweet Scones with mini choco chips in them,... as well as Petite-four sammies and apple & banana kabobs...
Fun after noon tea.

I have enjoyed reading what each and every one of you said, and I will be looking for some new to me teas based on your suggestions. Thank you!
My favorite is Constant Comment, but now I usually add a green tea bag into my cup with my favorite. Some times a bit of honey is added.
When my grand daughters were five and two, we visited my favorite junk shop. You know the kind that have so much glass ware and dishes...well we found a small tea pot, sugar and creamer...but after searching more we found two little cups, no saucers. Many happy afternoons began, after nap time, with a little pot of herbal peach tea. Of course they wanted sugar, so after mess #1, I bought sugar cubes. Now those little ones are 22 and 19. The 22 year old is a nurse and the younger sister is a working college girl. They don't have time for tea parties...but hopefully they will, as they get a better grip on adulthood.

Marilyn - I'm so happy to hear that Murchies is still there! We were there back in the 60s.
Constant Comment, jasmine, and a good chai are my favorites.

What a fun topic this is!
I’ll admit that I don’t drink tea very often, simply because I’m searching for one to fall in love with. I could probably write a longer list of the ones I don’t want to drink. But I do enjoy peppermint, licorice and chai (Nini, I made a mix of bulk chai some time ago which is boiled and steeped in a pot on the stove. I think I found the recipe online.) Constant Comment does say Grandma Amy to me (was that a generational tea?) and Good Earth is a family favorite.

But my all time favorite cup of tea is the one sipped with my grandkids at one of our tea parties.

I’d love to have a place where I could taste new teas and fall in love with one! And Nini, just the fact that your teas are in tins makes them sound more cozy! Maybe all those little rituals around the drinking of tea are what makes that warm feeling inside. Tea always tastes better to me when it’s in a china teacup on a saucer.

I'm a fan of Stash teas...currently my favorites are Orange Spice and Lemon Ginger. Constant Comment and Lemon Lift are long time favorites as well. I went up to Victoria BC a few weeks ago and stopped in at Murchie's Tea House for an afternoon pick me up.....I came home with a sampler of teas and have a couple new favorites....namely Darjeeling and Orange Ceylon. Most of the time I drink tea without embellishment. But once in awhile I'll endulge in a cup of black tea with lemon slices and agave or sugar. I'm also a sucker for a cup of Sleepty-time tea with a good book just before bedtime.

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

Yum, Darlene! What type of chai teas do you enjoy? I have only tried one, and it wasn't very good, so I never tried any others since. I'm open to suggestions, though! And no, please - type away!!! Hugs - Nini

Right now my favorite time for tea is in the evening, about 7pm. I love chai teas . Also the dessert teas, chocolate and caramel. I also like the lemon and peach teas. LoL! I better leave it at those or I'll be typing awhile!

Girls - if you lived nearby, I would take you to a WONDERFUL local Victorian Tea Room! You would never want to leave. I will have to download some pictures.. I'll try tonight! Anyhow, it's my favorite place to go and favorite thing to do with friends - and an awesome caregiver therapy! I'll post some pics asap. I promise!

Heather - I've got a nice tin of Irish Breakfast tea up on my tea shelf (Yes - I am a loon... I have a tea shelf!). I love it and my English breakfast tea in the morning, but lately I just can't step away from the Rose Petal Tea! LOL!

And Julie - I drink Peppermint tea every evening after dinner. I LOVE IT!!!

You girls have so many wonderful teas listed - I have to try them all!

I love scones, too. I make them for my hubby and me at least three times a week! He drinks his with coffee, though - anathema!!! LOL!!!

What do you serve with your tea? I love scones, butter cookies... a nice English muffin with jam! Mmmm! Tea time!!!

Love and hugs -

Nini

Nancy and Heather, I know what you mean. This thread makes me miss my Grandma. I was born in Canada,my whole family was. Grandma introduced me to tea very young. Honestly there aren't too many I don't like. Except for bitter teas. I like tea with nothing in it. Just tea. Grandma used to brew her teas let them steep. Then we would have a tea party. What I loved about that too is she used to"read" the tea leaves when we were finished! Of course I always had good fortune coming! Some wonderful memories.

Oh Nini,
This thread makes me miss my BFF something awful. We loved to go to various places to have tea. We've had tea at Huntington Beach on the sand. We hiked into the Cleveland Nat'l forest to Holy Jim Falls and had tea. We had tea on the Queen Mary and at the Hotel Del Coronado. Our favorite is lavendar tea with lavendar scones. My personal favorite though is Red Roiboos with french vanilla creme. YUM! (BFF lives in Minnesota and I live in East Texas)

I love Earl Grey and get a wonderful blend from A Tea Spot. I also really like peppermint, it's a perfect pick me up in the afternoon.

I love Irish breakfast tea. Nice and strong and a good pick me up for late afternoon. If I want a little treat I'll add a little sugar but not usually.

I tried Jasmine tea once and it tasted like I inhaled a perfume bottle! Not sure if I'd like your rose tea after that experience but I'd give it a try LOL!

My Grandma loved the constant comment so every now and then I'll have some for a trip down memory lane.

I really dont have a favorite tea right now. I do love a variety of them. Lately I have been having a cup of Oolong in the mornings! I really like it and I brew in my mug and I dont add anything to it. Great pick me up in the mornings to start my day! There is just something about a warm cup of tea to sip on!
