Posted - Mar 04 2007 : 09:45:17 AM Do some copper pots have a "coating "of aluminum? Has anyone heard of them being dangerous to use? Mine have a silver or tin colored layer. The frying pan looks like solid copper. Is there a good, natural cleaner? |

Posted - Mar 04 2007 : 10:23:58 AM Cut a lemon in half and dip in sea salt. Scrub away, it works very well without buying "special"cleaner.

Posted - Mar 04 2007 : 10:12:34 AM Is the copper worn down and you're seeing the tin underneath? I'm not sure, but think they all have a base layer of another metal, usually tin. Good copper pots are very pricey, but it's the best conducter of heat. Old timey method of cleaning copper is catsup, it removes the oxidation. Ronna |

Posted - Mar 04 2007 : 10:04:54 AM Lemon juice works wonders for keeping copper nice. For more yucky stains, make a paste with lemon juice and baking soda.
