Posted - Aug 13 2018 : 06:08:24 AM Does anyone follow a regimen of #MeatlessMonday?
I think I'd like to start. I recently rejoined Weight Watchers, and Monday is my weigh-in day. The last two weeks I've successfully lost Weight, which I reacted to by overeating on Monday (and Tuesday, too if truth be told).
So I would like to reinforce more mindful eating on Mondays. And this month is a great month to start with all the garden veggies coming to harvest.
Today I am having:
Breakfast- an egg frittata with leftover veggies Lunch: veggie-burger from Trader Joe's with sweet potato fries cooked in air fryer and an apple Dinner: lentil soup with salad and some homemade bread.
How about you?

Posted - Nov 19 2018 : 1:46:00 PM It’s months later, and I am wondering how that worked out for everyone. I have many “food” days throughout the week. Meatless Monday; Fish Friday which includes any seafood; Soup Sunday, served with salad and bread, one day for left-overs and one day for cooking anything and one day to call out for food, if the budget permits. That is a lot of planning and we don’t always stick to the day assigned, but I find I do better when my cooking is planned for the week. I’d love to see what others do.

Posted - Aug 15 2018 : 1:49:45 PM Beans, I love beans when I don't need meat. I also do Weight Watchers. My breakfast is usually a bagel thin with a Tablespoon of smooth peanut butter and a banana. Lunch a sandwich with mustard, turkey, cheese, lettuce, and tomato, supper either chicken or fish, a veggie and fruit, snacks are usually fruit or halo ice cream, or hard boiled eggs, I also must admit that I usually enjoy a mixed drink, Jack and diet coke daily. I don't drink enough water, Good Luck

Posted - Aug 15 2018 : 10:46:59 AM I try to make at least one day a week meatless. My hubby is a meat lover, but I have found a few meatless dishes that he loves. Some of my favorite meatless dishes are black beans and rice, veggie quiche, and homemade mac'n cheese. With a green vegetable and salad, you really don't miss the meat at all.

Going meatless a day or two a weeks sounds like a good idea...I must admit I am a person who loves meat...Actually any kind of meat...And no doubt in a weeks time I do consume too much of it...Thanks for the post...it gives me a lot to think about...
Hugs!

Posted - Aug 13 2018 : 11:02:56 AM I have several days a week I don't eat any kind of meat. I used to be a complete vegetarian after I was diagnosed with Crohns disease. I started adding chicken and fish after a few years because it was difficult to attend family events being a Veg. There is a lot of prejudice towards folks with alternate diet styles. Go figure.
Hubby just got told by Dr. PhD with good genes to cut back on calories sweets and proteins. It looks like Hubby and I will be eating meatless Mondays and possibly,Wednesdays.
Do we want to share meatless recipes? I am up for that.

Posted - Aug 13 2018 : 06:41:08 AM I hadn't heard about fasting for just hours though I seem to do better if I eat my last meal before 5pm and only have liquids afterwards. My biggest meal is brunch or lunch with lighter food for supper. Maybe I should think about fasting some of my snacks - snacking is my weakness. I would probably do better fasting a snack here are there than trying for a whole day.
Fasting to me has as much to do about what I am thinking as what I am not eating. Fasting and mediation seems to go together. Gotta think about fasting a little more.

Posted - Aug 13 2018 : 06:28:59 AM No, I've never completely fasted for a whole day. I used to joke that I rarely miss a meal. That is probably why I am doing Weight Watchers! My sister-in-law told me that she fasts on Fridays, but I'm not sure if she means abstaining from all food or just meats. Some of my fellow Weight Watchers mention that they've had success with intermittent fasting, which is limiting your eating hours to only 6 or 8 hours of the day. Haven't tried that either.

Posted - Aug 13 2018 : 06:23:35 AM Brenda, I don't do "meatless Monday" but I do have days during the week when I eat no meat. I let my body tell me what it needs. Somedays it's meat protein - others it's vegetables or carbs which usually means pasta. Have you ever fasted one day during the week? I have been thinking about doing that.
