Posted - Apr 07 2018 : 07:35:40 AM This morning I wanted to know if my jelly jars were freezer safe so I got on the Ball web site. They have boxes you can check off for what you are looking for so I punched in freezer safe and they showed the jars I could choose from. The 8oz I was hoping to be freezer safe was so I am set to go.

Posted - Apr 17 2018 : 6:55:39 PM Sara, any jar that doesn't seal in my home goes into the freezer to be used first. I've never had a pint or half-pint jar break on me. However, I have frozen broth in quart jars and didn't leave enough headspace for expansion and they did break. Sad day. |

I don't like to use the glass ones for freezing because they are hard to stack so I use the BPA free large containers they sell instead. Much easier to make room in the freezer and I don't have to worry about them breaking.
