Posted - Feb 21 2007 : 4:16:29 PM Ok I have my starter all bubbly and ready but how do I make pancakes for dinner?
Normal recipe? Or leave out the leavning?
Thanks for the help!

Posted - Feb 23 2007 : 7:56:57 PM I made some sourdough pancakes with the starter Ronna sent me and they were SO delicious! My husband even commented on them being better than the ones I usually make.
Thanks Ronna! I believe the recipe I used had baking powder in it.

Posted - Feb 21 2007 : 9:19:00 PM Thanks Ronna, I stirred it this morning -- greyish slurry on top but I'm trusting ya -- and the fridge is also basically freezing it I think --- and fed it so it was nice and bubbly. Made pancakes tonight but they were really runny. Kids seemed to think they tasted ok though.

Posted - Feb 21 2007 : 7:40:52 PM Holly, Too bad you didn't ask me when we were emailing this morning. I just add some to an existing recipe...probably 1/2 cup or so for one with 2-3 cups of flour. Have no clue what a recipe would tell you. Despite hundreds of cookbooks, some things I just do on my own and have added some starter to lots of recipes. If you're adding it for the flavor, it doesn't have to be room temp and bubbling. Ronna |
