Hi Farmgirls,
So I have always wanted a cookie press/decorator tube. I had one made of plastic years ago, but it broke and never had the cookie decorating pieces, it was more of a decorating tube.
Always put it on my wish list, but never got one. Then, a few weeks ago I stopped at an estate sale. I found an old, dusty boxed cooke press. The seller said $4. Brought it home, and I can't wait to start baking! I cleaned it up, getting the dust off everything. It looks like it was never used! I did some research and found that it is from 1951! It has twenty different discs, and is all metal. Even came with the recipe book. Wish me luck with my baking! Anyone have any helpful hints they want to share?

I've had no luck with parchment paper, but perhaps that has to do with the dough I use or the smoothness of the paper. I've rarely had a problem with buttery spritz cookies on a dry cookie sheet, though. I guess they're self-greasing! :)

Great find, Nicole! As far as tips and tricks go, I've always been told never to grease the cookie sheet, because the dough has to stick to make the right shapes. I have found, however, that the cookies turn out just fine when formed on a silicone baking mat!

Thanks! I will try it this weekend. I am looking at vintage cookie recipes, too, from books. I hope it works as well as it looks.
