Posted - May 27 2005 : 6:23:49 PM It's the start of the holiday weekend and the beginning of serious picnic season. Do you have something everyone asks you to bring? Do you make something so unique you know there won't be duplicates? My husband makes some amazing stuffed grapeleaves and I have a few salad tricks up my sleeve usually but always get asked by the kids for my brownie pizza. I will post recipes if anyone is interested, but I'd love to hear what's cooking at your house!

Posted - May 28 2005 : 07:34:57 AM I learned a variation of deviled eggs: add a small amount liquid smoke, which really adds a punch to them. My brothers call them "barbequed eggs", but they really like them!

Posted - May 28 2005 : 05:35:37 AM Devilled eggs - they just go right along with all the 4th of July birthday family picnics we always had. I love them, and everyone asks me to bring them. I use mayo, milk, a little sugar, mustard, salt and pepper. I like them to have a sweet tang and not be bland. I sprinkle them with paprika.

Posted - May 27 2005 : 8:00:04 PM Oh I love dill pickles!!! Do you put yours up Jenny? I love the Polish style called Polska Wielsoski...it sells all over here, heavy on garlic. My Mom cans THE best bread and butter pickles. I provide the cukes and carrots and labor.
