I am reading the directions on the back of my package of Mary Jane's organic brownies and am a little confused. It sounds like a bake-over recipe.

Can I just mix according to directions (do I add butter or not?) and put in a 9" square pan and bake?

Mary Jane, thanks for taking the time to respond, and on Thanksgiving to boot! I will try the brownies tonight - it will be something different after turkey and pumpkin yesterday.

The ice cream sounds wonderful! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Happy Thankful Morning BrightMeadow! I heard you were confused about our brownie mix. There isn't enough mix in one of my packages for oven baking such as you've described. For that you will need to have some on hand in a bulk amount. But we have provided two sets of directions on the package for 1. baking it with fruit as a BakeOver topping or 2. "skillet-baked" dollops baked in a skillet on the top of your stove (low heat).

If you're wanting some brownies, just follow the skillet-bake directions for six wonderfully warm chocolate mounds. They are also fantastic (warm and good) when camping.

Wishing you and yours a happy gathering today! I just finished making a mix for some homemade hand-churned pumpkin ice cream. When I serve it I'm going to top it with a bit of peanut brittle, then melted chocolate. Divine.
