I can't find it anywhere, ya know the one using her budget mix? I just went to make my pies and I cant seem to find this dang gone recipe. I did see it somewhere right??

Just curious are those under copywrite still , I think they would be for at least 50 more years if not longer. Does MJF want these published here as they are in her magazine wouldn't she want someone to buy the magazine to get the receip . It is nice to help people don't get me wrong just wondering if this is ok and legal.

Hi, Liz, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING.
I've got the book handy and here's the recipe for MJ's Piecrust from the "Perfect Cherry Pie"

Crust, for double-crust 9" pie
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp sugar
1 cup cold butter
5 Tbsp cold water

Sift together flour, sugar, and salt in bowl. Using pastry blender or fork, cut butter into dry ingredients until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle cold water evely over surfact 1 Tbsp at a time; stir until mositened. Shape in disk and chill for 1 hour or freeze for up to 3 weeks.

I could use a MJ pie crust recipe as well, the one I need is in the book. If anyone has the crust recipe for the cherry pie that's in her book I'd appreciate it. I gave mine to my sister and I don't know if I'll be able to call her before I need it today.

I found a recipe for a tart shell in the mag but not pie crust. I could have overlooked it.

2 tbs butter melted to brush tart pan
1 1/4 c. budget mix
1/4 cup sugar
7 tbs butter (cold, divided into 1/2 inch cubes
1 tsp vanilla
3 tbs ice water

In med. bowl mix budget mix and sugar. Add butter and cut in with a pastry blender until it resembles a coarse meal. Combine vanilla nad ice water. sprinkle evenly over dry mixture and stir until a dough forms. Turn onto parchment and roll into a 13 inch round. Press into a 9x1 tart pan.

Oh my goodness, Luzy, I sent you such a "thank you" email...did you not get it? You must think I am an ingrate (is that how to spell it?)! Yes, I got your lovely gift and I adore it! I don't have decorations for autumn so it was perfect for me. You'd have thought that you had been to visit me and knew just what I needed! It is proudly displayed on my breakfast table! Thank you!

Thanks Rebekah! I don't have the kitchen issue, so I guess I'll try and monkey with the recipe for a tart. That should work. I REALLY appreciate your help tho. My Chocolate and Pumpkin pies thank you and so does my Hubby!!!! Have a great Thanksgiving too! Big hugs, Lu

Hey, Luzy, just searched some old posts here and learned that the recipe you seek is in the Kitchen issue of MJ's magazine. Sorry I don't have it handy. There is also a pie crust recipe in MaryJane's wonderful book, but it doesn't use the MJ budget mix. Good luck!
