Every year I get a bountiful harvest of...Green Tomatoes :) We have such a short growing season here and the temperatures seem to cool just as the tomatoes are starting to ripen.

Here are links to some wonderful Green Tomato Recipes. Enjoy :)

Green Tomato Pie,(this came out so good and I used a wonderful crust recipe that has cornmeal in it from Dawn under the Cape Cod October Pie thread)

Green Tomato Mincemeat, my honey has never liked mincemeat before trying this and wanted me to make a second batch :)

Green Tomato Salsa, this is a very good recipe and one that I try to make every year :) I did halve the amount of lime juice.

Enjoy ladies

All of those are great but I also make green tomato relish. You use it like pickle relish on hot dogs, in egg salad and on ham sandwiches. It uses green and red peppers, green tomatoes, onion, cider vinegar, sugar, salt, celery seed and turmeric. My kids hate the smell when cooking but love it on stuff. It is very pretty in the jar with the ground veggies and if I get pressed for time I grind all in the food processor.

I made the green tomato pie tonight and it's delicious! Even my dog wanted some (I only gave him a little). What a great way to use up my green tomatoes!

I'm with you on the pie Denise :) This was my first time making mincemeat and pie from green tomatoes and they are both now keepers in my recipe binders :)

Green tomato pie and green tomato mincemeat are two of my very favorites!
I have pickled green tomatoes also but didn't really care for them.
I much prefer to eat them in pie!
