Hi all,
Yesterday I canned some bread and butter pickles and the juice is cloudy. I used the same recipe as always but this batch is cloudy. Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks in advance

Might be the salt you used.=)

I asked the other pickle question on the forum before yours. I have had a ton of cucumbers this year so I have canned 2 types of dill, 2 types of gherkins, and my sweet pickles that I always do. I have had lots of problems but not cloudy juice. My info says never to use aluminum utensils or pots so I am very careful to use glass, enamel or steel. I also use filtered water because mine is so heavily treated because of hardness. And I think that I also read that iodized salt could hurt the pickling color too.
That's all I can think of - good luck fellow pickler!
