My kitchen has a very small amount of space for storage, and I have a small pantry that I have to rearrange to suit my ever changing desires for organization. Could we post a pic of our kitchens? Share some decorating and storage ideas!

Heather,
I really love your apt. kitchen. It certainly doesn't look small! What really caught my eye was the green shelf you have hanging on your wall. Is it an antique or did you have someone make it? I'm looking for something similar to hang above a table I have butted against a wall to hold salt shakers, napkins, etc.

If the above posts do not make since...I had posted one but it did not go through... so I rewrote it and then they both posted. So I deleted the first one...Maybe this will help make since of it all. OR maybe not!

Oh NO! I didn't think you were a nazi--I've always loved the symbol--I've seen it everywhere from Native American cultures, Jewish cultures, and even muslim cultures. Like I said, here in America, very likely at the time it would have been used, the symbol was associated with Masons, and orders like that. Very cool, none the less.

I've even seen the symbol on headstones in cemeteries (Mason!)

Jonni...oh my goodness, you are right. I did not even notice that. I think that might be because this cabinet is one that stays closed all the time and it sits low. So after looking at my blog and at the picture I see what you mean. It must be that the way the flash hits it it surely looks like swastikas...YIKES! I don't like that.
I am going to pretend it is just 'pinwheels.'
Thanks for looking at my blog. It does take time to do all of that posting, so I hope it is enjoyed by others. And thanks, Jonni, for letting me know about the crochet work design.

Pamela, i love the malt mixer...I worked at a Baskin Robbins in Wayzata MN and we had one just like it. I loved that job. Most of them have closed in the midwest. What i wouldn't do for some lemon custard ice cream right now. I have me a summer cold.

Pamela--
I love your kitchen and all your stuff!!! I wish I had the space for it, but I surely don't. My little kitchen, you can't cuss a cat in!

I have a question for you, though: under your blog posting, "I told you so" , you have a photo of your hutch lined with cloths--the one on top has what appears to be swastikas, which is a good luck symbol, and one often used by old mason groups, and "secret" orders. How did you come by this runner?

I hate the connotation that the Nazi's gave it.

Okay gals I have posted about 20 pictures on my blog of my kitchen. Thought it best this way as to not take up too much space on this here forum.

So check them out. You can click on each pic to enlarge to see better, if you like. I always do this if I want to get a good close look at something.

Also...leave me some comments...I love them.

Thanks farmgirls,

Pamela

thanks for the compliments. autumn, i do love the high ceilings, but until we got our new hvac last summer, this house was a bear to heat! as best we can tell, our house was built in 1930. the publics records department had a big fire in 1930 and a lot of the house deeds got marked as being built in 1930 because the record burned. so, we don't know if ours was one of those, or if it was actually built in 1930. it was renovated about about six years ago, right before we bought it. apparently, it was in quite disrepair.

I love the red accents in your kitchen, Amy ... especially that red telephone!
So nice to see everyone's kitchens, I guess I'll have to get my own camera busy!

my grandfather had one of those. It was weird the first time he used I use to think the rafters where coming down because of his snoring. But soon as he started that machine the snoring went away that took awhile to get use to a house with out snoring.

hahahahahaha
i've seen the pics, your kids are toooo cute, but you and dh are cuties too.
i have a sleep machine. i have severe sleep apnea. it really does help me and they say it will help with the cardiovascular disease.
it is funny though and at first i thought it would scare the grandkiddos, if they saw it. it lloks like an oxygen mask, and has a long tube , it kinda looks like a halloween costume and i am going as an elephant
anyway, everyone likes it cause it makes me feel better. olivia calls it my nose machine, she thinks i use it because something is wrong with my nose. when i wake up in the morning, she says, "omie your nose looks much better today, i think your nose machine is helping you.

it isn't a lot of sleep but my body hasn't been letting me sleep well for about 2 years now. then I just get so exhausted and sick that I get knocked on my tail for a week which is what just happened. Then I am on the go again I want to sleep body just doesn't want to at times. I am not into taking medicine unless the doctor prescribes it even then half the time I wouldn't go get it from the pharmacy because I just am not fond of putting extra chemicals in my body

i am waiting there with you hasn't happened yet as my husband tells every one the girls got all there good looks from him that is why he doesn't have any left. i think I am that way too the kids took it all.
