Posted - Oct 22 2006 : 09:52:53 AM Okay, now that I've got your attention, I have updated the other forum as to where we are at regarding our book. I *think* I have managed to get the book published and mailed for under $10. Sooo..obviously, what I need to give the publisher is the number of books to print - the more they print, the cheaper they are. If everyone could give me an idea of how many copies they would like, I can get a ballpark number for the publisher. This doesn't have to be a firm commitment at this point, but please let me know if you are interested so I can get a rough idea. Di

Posted - Nov 05 2006 : 05:25:34 AM Diane, FYI The PDF issue, there is a shareware or freeware called Primo PDF. http://www.primopdf.com/ Down load to your computer and it acts like a another printer. You choose Primo PDf from your printer options and it works great from all the programs I've used (we use it at work a lot). Just a thought for future use. KarenP

Posted - Nov 04 2006 : 10:09:01 AM We've had a couple of major hurdles. Seems all submissions to publishers now have to be submitted in .pdf format and I don't have $1500 to spend on software!! However, the publisher has said that the files I submitted to him can be converted (phew!) and all is well again.
Through absolutely NO fault of her own, Julie's artwork is MIA. She has begun the tedious task of emailing me (she has dial-up) the artwork as of this morning. And I got to tell you, it looks great!
I will be taking the whole package to the publisher first thing Monday morning. They tell me that this is still do-able for the end of the month (fingers crossed). I am really hoping to have all information, with regard to ordering, to you by week's end.

Posted - Oct 26 2006 : 10:09:33 AM Thursday morning update - we are up to 172 copies! I will be taking the hardcopy and cd into the publisher tomorrow. Unfortunately the artwork still hasn't arrived, but I'm praying it will come today or tomorrow morning before I have to go into town. At the very least, I should have a nailed-down price for you all very soon. Di |
