I've discovered that chickweed tastes all right and it's good for you. I have a lot of it in my yard so I'm going to start adding it to salads. Still don't care for dandelion greens. Even though I have a lot of them as well.

Stephanie, I hear ya! I have enough dandelions to stock
a grocery store in greens, fritters and jelly! A friend
offered to spray my yard to get rid of them. I almost went into
a panic. I need my dandelions. Besides I think they are pretty.
Can someone explain to me how to use chickweed. I have lots of that
too, but do not know how to use it.

Ladies, if you're ever in my neck of the woods, feel free to come pick to your hearts content! I already have chickweed, dandelion, garlic mustard, etc.

I wish I did have some this year. I'd love to try making coffee with it, and some salves.

I love chickweed! Dandelion greens I put in smoothies, but this year I'm going to gather some flowers and try making some jelly.

Isn't it amazing how many "weeds" are so good for you? And free? And right out your front door? I made dandelion jelly for market and took the greens and flowers and sold a lot. I could not believe how people were buying dandelion greens. But the more I read about them, the more I am amazed by them. And have been eating them in salads and smoothies. Also sauteed collards and added dandelion greens to that. SO good!

I'll have to look up chickweed now. Thanks, Cindy.

Clover, coltsfoot, and sheep sorrel are awesome in salads too. Dandelion flowers are good. I hope I get enough flowers to make some dandelion fritters!
