Posted - Jan 05 2013 : 07:07:18 AMWe just had a Sprouts grocery store open in town and they had an incredible deal on blackberries for the grand opening. With a case discount, of course I buy tons, it came to 59 cents per package. Thats a pretty good deal here in the winter where the price is usually 3.99 per package. So far I've made syrup, frozen some and have plans for jam today. I put some in the dehydrator but I'm not seeing much reduction and it's been 10 hours already. Do Blackberries dehydrate well? Anyone have any luck? or should I cut my loses and use theem for some more syrup? I know questions questions questions...... I love to hear what other farmgirls do with their berries.

Posted - Jan 05 2013 : 11:40:54 AMWell we just freeze our berries to use later. In fact I am going to make a blackberry cobbler today. Yum. About dehydrating---they should--but being so juicy it may take longer. Remember a watched pot never boils. LOL Just back away from them. Let us know. MB
