Just read an article in a magazine showing step-by-step how to make candied citrus peel. I am so inspired! Sounds like fun and a nice gift to go with my gift jams at the holidays. Does anyone know how long the candied peel stays fresh for after its made? I'm wondering how far ahead I can make it.

I've kept it for at least 3 months in the refrigerator successfully. It makes a great gift and my friends look forward to receiving.

Mom always made it around the holidays but don't remember how long they stayed fresh. They were very good.
