Spent the morning with DD teaching her to can. What fun! Her first thing was tomatoes. It was fun to share some of your stories and tips with her. She came up with 11 Qts. and is so pleased. I just loved seeing her smile so. I just filled one jar for her and she took it from there. She said it wasn't as difficult as she feared. So she will do it again. I came home with 2 boxes of tomatoes, a variety of peppers, onions (of course she wants salsa). I also helped her braid some of their onions, and hang some of their herbs to dry. I picked up some sweet corn from a farmer and will cut and freeze that tomorrow. Made a yummy, fresh mango salsa to go with chips tonight. Then sis-in-law called to see if I want some of their grapes. Yay, jelly! I'm pretty tuckered tonight..but, for a really good reason.

I also wish I had someone to can with that actually likes it, not like my DH and kids who do it because I said so. They all eat the canned food but thinks it silly to can it since we cal go to the store. Eventually they will figure it out, why we can.

God bless,

Judy

how fun! I'd love to have someone in my family that could teach me, I'm learning from books and the web. A canning party sounds fun!

I am trying to be the person my dogs think I am.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
