Any of you farmgirls try this?? I don't want to buy another gadget for my kitchen and I have a bread machine that is under used. I have read about this and will try it today. I will post my results. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much, I have been using the oven with my deep stew pot and it works well, but I have trouble lifting the heavy pot. The settings on my bread machine are not compatible with making yogurt. I will be using my crock pot today.

Oh, Kathryn! Don't worry about using a bread maker! Here is a post from last summer for you to check out: http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=51864&whichpage=3 If you go down the page about half-way, you'll find a post from Lisa aka Nubidane, that gives a couple of links about making yogurt without any kind of machine at all! I have been making it this way for almost a year now, and absolutely love it! You really have to give it a try, okay?

Good Luck!
