So as an error, we recently purchased 10 lbs of split chicken breasts. I have always been a boneless, skinless girl and this stumps me to no end. Any Farmgirls have any good recipes for them?

Thanks

It's really easy to debone a chicken breast. Take your boning knife and start by separating the skin from the breast. Once it's started you can use your fingers. You want to remove only the skin, so just use the knife edge for the fascia (??SP??) which is a thin opaque skin layer that is between the skin and the meat. Once that is done, starting where the cartilege attatches to the meat, run the knife along the sternum and around the rib cage. You should have this perfected by your 3rd or 4th breast. I do this all the time. I buy split breast because it's too expensive to buy boneless/skinless.

I take the meat off the bone and can it and the use the bones to make broth to can as well. Canned chicken can be used for dumplin's, pot pies, BBQ, chicken salad, in a stir fry, chicken pizza, white chili, fajittas, just about anything.

Thanks Dorinda, your post gave me some direction. I made two lunches with our favorite dry rub, one covered in BBQ sauce, and another in a Balsamic italian. I just needed some inspiration, thank you so much.

Well Emily you can de-bone them your self. Then you will have boneless chicken breast. But if you don't want to go through the trouble. I use them in chicken and sausage gumbo. Or chicken and noodle soup or barbecue them. Also they make great chicken broth. I've also just boiled them out a little and take the meat off the bone and make chicken salad sandwiches. Then save the broth I just freeze it. There's all kinds of things you can do with it. Good Luck.....
