Does anyone have any ideas on how to store tea bags? The boxes are getting annoying. I put all of my looseleaf tea in jars, but I don't have enough room to put all of my tea bags into separate jars. If it can reuse something, so much the better. If I have to, I will put all of my tea into canning jars, but I'm open to suggestions....I have about 12 or 13 different kinds of tea in bags to deal with. Hope someone can help me!

Here is what I bought for my teabags. I found it at an antique store.

I then cover the cardboard teabags and decoupage them for gift boxes (on my S.C.R.A.P. blog and possibly on more forums here too)
on my blog: http://scrapreusedandrecycledartprojects.blogspot.com/search/label/Cardboard%20Tea%20Bag%20Boxes

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the ideas ladies! I was thinking in the cupboard storage...but I may end up putting it in the freezer somehow or other. And maybe get a vacuum food saver (I wonder if my Mom still has hers?!) to put them in lol. Thanks :)

Interesting topic and replies. I bought a whole bunch of my favorite tea (PG Tips) the last time I was in Denver and knowing that tea can and does go bad, I put some of the boxes in the freezer. Now reading Mary Beth's tip I'm wondering if I should use my Food Saver on them instead. I've got some that didn't go in the freezer thinking they were going to North Dakota with me soon (DH is working up there this summer)but that trips been cut way back so I think I'll try the vacuum sealing trick on those.

Pam, you can use small mylar bags that you can order online and put one box of the bags into a mylar bag, then add a desecant to absorb moisture and an oxygen absorber. You seal it using a hair straightener iron and the oxygen absorber sucks all the air out and vaccuum packs them. Then, you can put the bags into a bucket and close the bucket and store that somewhere. The tea will last a really long time that way. You can open one mylar bag at a time and put your bags in a tea caddy to use.

I have this same promble. The best I've come up with is putting an assortment of them in a loaf pan & keep the rest in the boxes stored in my pantry...which is just a plastic shelf thingie in my bedroom, sadly my house lacks a pantry but I still like acting like I have one. :D
