Found a really yummy sounding recipe in a magazine for pickled sweet corn. Double checked my Ball canning info about blanching it, and using a hot pack method instead of making the recipe as refrigerator pickles.

Here's my issue, and if anyone knows the answer to this, it's going to be one of my farmgirl sisters! How do you cut the ears into 1" thick slices? I have tried my 3 sharpest knives, and it's a real battle - let me tell you! I know I needed an upper body workout this morning, but this is a bit ridiculous...

Any advice is very welcome, and thank you!

I just lay the ears on a cutting board an dtake a sharp chefs knife and it will cut right through.

The way I cut my ears if I have to cut any portion off is to take a knife and score it all the way around the point where I want to cut. Then, I use both hands and snap it in two at the point where it is scored. That way I don't have to fight trying to cut all the way through. Hope that works for you!
