How I stock my pantry on the blog today.

This article does not include what I grow or can myself, but includes brand names of items you can find on a store shelf. For those who are just starting out gluten free, this makes things a lot easier.

Anyway, just thought I'd share. Hope you'll stop by and check it out!

You are very welcome! It seems like every time I turn around, I meet someone new who either has gluten issues or has a friend/family member who does. I'm just hoping that for those who are new to this, it shows them that there's more out there that they CAN eat than they can't.

I cook with almond flour all of the time and love it! I know that the less wheat I eat the better i feel, so I'm try to get as much of it out of my diet as I can. Ann thank you so much for coming up with a list, I'm off to read it when I'm done posting!

Trick is to read labels carefully and know your inredients. Luckily there are many more choices today. I like elanaspantry.com and i bought her almond flour cookbook. I am able to cook my own variations of familiar foods so I dont feel everything is a big "no"

My daughter just tested positive for Celiac so we are going to be going gluten free. I suspected my kids having at least an intolerance after we went gluten free for 2 months they turned into little angels so after seeing such a huge difference I decided to get them tested for celiac and had to go back on gluten. What a difference gluten makes in the diet! End result was that my daughter tested positive and my son normal so now we are going to get confirmation of celiac in July... which is the absolute soonest my daughter could get into the pediatric gastroenterologist (however you spell it). Unless of course there is a cancellation we can get in sooner. Love reading all the tips I can get, going gluten free for a few months is one thing but it's the maintenance that is tricky. That and trying to explain to family/friends that celiac won't be outgrown.... grrrr

Isn't amazing how quickly you start to feel better?

I have tried almond flour for a few things and didn't have much success. I do use it for a dip I call Not Cheese. You can find the recipe on my blog. I also have some coconut flour around, but after the almond flour fiascos, I'm a little scared to try it. I'll get brave and curious some day, I'm sure. But for now, it sits in the back of my fridge to keep from going rancid.

I just recently went wheat free, in which I try to follow the gluten free guidelines. I have discovered almond flour and love the recipes I have tried so far. Its a scary shift trying to re-think how to shop, cook, and eat out. I have been wheat free/gluten free for 6 weeks and am already feeling better.

Glad I could help!

When we first went gluten free nearly 2 years ago, I felt almost paralyzed every time I walked into a grocery store. If I can save anyone else from that horrible feeling, I'm glad to do it!

That is a wonderful list for those who are going gluten free. The website is good too. I will have to print it out and see how far I can get going gluten free. I know I would feel alot better if I did.
