Posted - Jan 12 2012 : 5:23:36 PM I have an Aroma Oldfashioned Ice Cream maker. The type that is a wooden bucket that you put the cylinder of ice cream ingredients inside of and fill with ice and sprinkle with salt. It has an electric crank and a hand crank. It works well.
Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories |

Posted - Jan 12 2012 : 10:23:32 AM I bought a Cuisinart ICE-20 from the resale shop last summer. Best $3.00 I've spent in a long time!
I haven't made ice cream with it yet, only fruit sorbets. I think the pineapple was my favorite, hubby enjoyed the mango. It's a great way to use up fruit besides smoothies.
It's just big enough for my family of 4. It is a little on the loud side. But I just remind myself that yumminess - is on it's way! I keep the bowl in the freezer in the event of a sorbet/ice cream emergency!
