For a long time I gave it up. Because of heartburn. But then I would go to Bible study and we'd have refreshments after and a big ole pot was brewed. And she'd have the yummy flavored creamers. So I'd have a few cups on Tuesdays. Well, then I'd start making a half pot in the afternoons a few times a week. Now I am back to drinking it in the morning. Coffee. With flavored creamers.

But I looked at the ingredients of the Coffee Mate brand that she serves at BS. Not a drop of cream at all. But hydrogenated oil! And soybean oil at that. Oohhh. But it's so flippin' good. So I looked in the dairy section (because some of this creamer sits on the shelf next to the coffee. Oohh again.) and found some with just cream, milk, sugar and flavor. That's all. They don't have near the choices that the oil stuff has, but still good and I know that I am getting real cream. And the better stores have organic creamer.

But I had found a really good homemade creamer last year with cocoa and sugar and cream and peppermint oil. I can't find the recipe now. I went ahead and made some up and it's ok but just not exactly right yet. And it's so good. So I am wondering if anyone has some good REAL creamer recipes I can try?

I use cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, pumpkin pie spice, and any and all extracts to flavor my coffee. I also like to use a spoon of ice cream and homemade caramel and butterscotch sauces or whatever I can find. Try maple syrup and cinnamon! Yummy!

Thank you, Sheri. I like that she uses maple syrup, which I have alot of right now. And it's organic. So I saved this and will make some. Of each! That pumpkin sounds really good.
