I was wondering if rice flour is just like brown rice ground up? I was wanting to try a bread recipe using rice flour and was wondering if that's all it is before I grind some. And if it needs something else with it, like maybe some whole wheat or bread flour? Thanks.

I love rice flour. It make great waffles. Nice and crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

I have a Grain master Whisper Mill. I just ground 1 cup of brown rice and almost 2 cups of soft white wheat. I made a recipe using 3 cups of flour, 1/4 tsp. yeast, 1 1/4 tsp. salt and 1 1/2- 1 3/4 cups of water. I had about 3 1/4 cups flour and used all the water and it was really wet so I added about a cup of bread flour. I never had to do that before. I hope it turns out good. It's the best easiest bread recipe I've ever made. It sits out for 12-18 hours before baking. I'll let ya know tomorrow if it works using the wheat and rice flours.

yup. most flours are just groung grain, before we started adding all the extra vitamins and minerals. What grinder do you use?
