Hey Brooke! They are patty pans, just like they said. I grew a 50 foot row this past summer and sliced it and cubed some and froze a lot. I have used it in breads just like zucchini it works fine. When I really want to be bad, I flour it with Almond flour and then fry in coconut oil. Its very good. And well that is really not unhealthy. I have been following you and your new house. It looks fantastic and I am so glad for you. We had a great time at the campout this year. The bee man was great. Learned so much. Maybe next year you can make it. I know you'v had a busy year. Try the squash, you will like it. My fall garden is doing great, collards, mustard greens, spinach, romaine, onions, radishes, broccoli. They are doing good. My tomatoes, kinda froze over, we had a light frost, and it got them. Oh well I tried. Have a great weekend! Linda Farmgirl #946 |

Oh, well, I bought it! Of course I'd try it! :-D LOL! I just wasn't sure what kind it was and what I should do.. Sometime I just get things that I feel I like (And I really liked the look of the white one ... I said, "it makes me happy" ...LOL... they laughed.) .....but I'm still learning what to do with them... I also bought a persimmon!

I grew that kind of squash this year! I picked it small, cut it in half and steamed it. I also sliced it thin,quick sauteed it so it wasn't too crispy and served it with spaghetti sauce on the side. I personally like my squash drizzled with olive oil and real sea salt! Plus you can use it in casseroles in place of zucchini if you would like. Not sure how it would be in zucchini bread for recipes that need shredded zucchini but I have used it chopped up in place of zucchini before so I know for sure that works :)

that's a patty pan. It's a summer squash like zuchinni so you can stir fry it or cut it into salads.
