I always do my applebutter in the crockpot. Like teetee830, I put it in overnight & by morning the house smells great & it is ready to finish.

I make mine in the crock pot every year. Its so nice to put it on and forget about it overnight. However it always takes longer than my recipe says. I don't know if that is just my cooker or what.

I have a recipe that doesn't use sugar - would be good for this Weight Watcher has anyone tried this approach? Thanks for the recipe sites. I'll check them out

Yes, I made my apple butter in the crockpot this year. I think the recipe is posted on the Ball Canning jar website or on Allrecipes.com Those are my 2 stand-by recipe sites. I let it simmer on low for about 9-12 hours depending on how wet the apples were. Then I water-bathe canned it for 15 min.

It turned out GREAT! My family is eating it on everything.

Good Luck

Someone posted a crock pot recipe on here back a while ago. Go to search and type in apple butter and you might be able to find it.
