OK. So I know I'm crazy, but I just can't pass up a good deal at the grocery. I walked into our local Firelake Grocery and they had boxes of bananas across the whole front of the store, stacked almost to the ceiling. Millions of bananas. And the smell just knocked you over.

They are on sale for 5 pounds for $1!!!! And they are Chiquita. Well, I got more than a monkey could eat and I brought them home to dehydrate them. They are so good that I think I'll go get some more!! I put how I dehydrate them at the blog if you'd like to see pictures. Wish I could ship you all some bananas!!!

I like to freeze bananas separately then I put them in freezer bags, oh I love how they make smoothies in the winter! What a nice way to lift the spirits during a blizzard than a nice homemade tropical inspired smoothie!!! We also like to make banana chips :) I found a deal like that last month!!! I'd love to find another deal like that though so I can dehydrate some, I ended up freezing all the ones I got!!! :D

Frozen bananas in a super strong blender or processor make ice cream. No joke, blend for a bit and its soft serve ice cream texture without the bad ingredients.

You can add peanut butter, or chocolate syrup or anything else really, but even with just the frozen bananas, its yummy! Perfect for those like me, who cant have dairy anymore.

I love to freeze them for a sweet, refreshing snack. Slice them into bite sized pieces, dip one end into honey, then dip it into coconut flakes. Let it freeze, then enjoy. It is just enough to satisy your sweet tooth and you'd be surprised how quick one or two will cool you off.

Wow, Nini, you are on a roll!!! I am going to try that. I am buying another 10 lbs so part are going in the freezer for smoothies this winter!!! Yay. I try to dehydrate as much as I can because we are forever losing electricity in the winter and it's just a pain trying to keep everything frozen!!!

Good gravy, girlfriend - please take those bananas out of your ears before someone takes note and tries to have you committed! LOL! JUST KIDDING - couldn't resist!!! ;)

You know, Mary Beth, you can freeze bananas right in their skins. I put them in a plastic bag in the freezer. The peels will turn black in the freezer, but boy oh boy when you take them out and let them thaw, they are all soft and mushy and just perfect for baking or adding to a healthy fruit smoothie!! You have to try it! I found out about this years ago, and now whenever I see the nanners starting to turn, I just pop em in the freezer for later! SO nice!!!

Have fun "monkeying around" with your banana stash! LOL! (I'm sorry... I'm just in one of those moods!)

Hugs and love -

Nini

To die for you say? I'm thinking that I'd just die looking at them!! Heart attack city!! But that actually does sound good. I think I may go dip my deep fried ones in chocolate and I'll let you know what I think!!! :-)
