Posted - Aug 25 2011 : 1:00:09 PM I finally buckled down and decided to try my hand at canning bacon. I have wanted to do that because we love bacon and I know the canned kind you can get from import places is really good (and expensive). I had found some bacon on sale and bought a bunch with the idea of canning it. Well, it turned out to be easier than I thought!! And it' actually fun. So I have my first run of 7 quarts going right now with a second run ready to pop in. This is going to be great for winter!! I'm taking pictures of course! :-)
