Like cookie mix or cake mixes. Something pretty when layered, but tastes great when baked??
My dd is going to have a table this fall at a 'vendor' fair at school. She's going to use my blue Ball jars to put the mixes in and have samples of the already baked product to try. (I have the seal-a-meal with the jar sealing attachment. I think it would be best to seal them that way.
Any ideas? She's not sure if she wants to use labels on the top of the jars or fabric.

again i am at work- the recipe i have is at home- i don't remember which farmgirl gave the info--but--you actually mix up the bread mix- i made pumpkin bread- and you bake it in a wide mouth jar- then put teh lid on ASAP after taking it out of the oven--that seals it in and it is supposed to last for about 2 years.... they were delish- i used them at christmas for gifts for co workers- tied a ribbon on and the recipe- they wuld be cute with a crocheted dish cloth on top ....

Margo, what do you mean about the bread in a jar? I guess I don't understand what you mean. Could you explain or maybe there is a website I could see? Are you talking about the mix in a jar and then all they have to do is add the wet ingredients (which is what I was thinking) or somehow you make a loaf of bread in the jar? Sorry, don't want to sound foolish but its a Monday!

i would love to have the chix soup recipe if someone could share?
krystle--what about a jar of the actual pumpkin bread? i did that last year as gifts- i'm at work so don't have the recipe or the link--but it was great!!! one f the farmgirls did it-maybe she'll chime in????

That is a great idea!!! I was trying to come up with some mixes to give as Christmas gifts this year! I am making baskets and putting in a jar of jelly/jam, a jar of a cookie or bread (like pumpkin bread or something) mix, and a jar of chicken soup mix and of course a coffee mug with either homemade hot cocoa mix or a small packet of coffee for the grandparents who love coffee. I know my mom had a recipe for chicken soup in a jar and all the person had to do was add water but I can't get a hold of her to get it. Anyone else have the chicken soup in a jar recipe? Hope your both works out for you!!!

Here's cinnamon pancake mix in a jar
3 c flour
2T sugar
2T baking powder
4 1/2 t cinnamon
1 1/4 t salt
directions: In a medium bowl combine 3/4 c milk, 1 egg, and 2 T oil.
With a wire wisk, blend in 1 1/3 c of pancake mix until moistened but still lumpy.
Cook on a lightly greased griddle or skillet. makes about 10- 5 inch pancakes
Are you using antique blue jars? I love those things!I hope you will get them back when your customers are finished with their goodies.
I would attach the directions to the jar with some raffia. and make a little bow.
