My horses are eating the one down low and I want to get some before they are gone but not sure when the time to pick them is. I am not sure what kind of pear tree it is as it was here before we move in. All I can tell you is that they have always been hard. Any help would be appreciated. I went out one day and thought maybe I should pick them but then was going to wait and i should have picked them because when I came back a few days later they were all gone. I thought my colts ate them but they can't reach that high. So once again will have to wait till next year. Now I am hoping my pecan trees survive the drought we are having. Ugh! I don't know about TX but mine in GA will be ready in the next 2 wks.
