Made apricot gelato last night and just felt like I had to post the recipe - it is sooo good. I got this recipe out of one of Marcella Hazan's cookbooks (don't remember which one).

Apricot Gelato

1 lb apricots
1 c water
1 c sugar
1/2 c heavy cream
1 tbsp Grand Marnier

Wash the apricots, remove any blemishes. Cut in half and remove pit. Add apricots, water and sugar to food processor and process until runny. In a separate bowl whip the cream until it is like thick buttermilk. Fold apricot mixture and Grand Marnier into cream. Put mixture into ice cream maker and follow the instructions for your ice cream maker.

Then, if you're me, take a big spoon and eat it out of the ice cream maker, forget trying to get it into a bowl to put in the freezer!
