I just found this totally delicious sounding frozen treat and can't wait to try it! Just bananas and cocoa, almond essence and a bit of vanilla really, NO milk or cream! YUMMERS!

Choco-Almond Banana Soft Serve Ice Cream

Makes one large serving.

Ingredients

2 overripe bananas, sliced and frozen
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 to 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (2 teaspoons if omitting the almond extract)
1 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
1/2 teaspoon allspice (optional)
a handful of chocolate chips (chocolate bark) and/or almonds (optional)

Directions

Combine the bananas, cocoa powder, vanilla, almond extract, chocolate bark and almonds in a food processor and mix until smoothly blended. Try not to overprocess the batter, as this can result in soupy ice cream. If the soft serve is too much on the soft side, transfer it to a covered container and store in the freezer for an hour or until it’s thickened up a bit.

we have made a variation of this, which was just bananas, peanut butter and cocoa powder. My kids LOVE this! I am not a fan of bananas, but the peanut butter and cocoa do disguise it enough where I will eat it. I also added a bit of almond milk because my blender couldn't handle it.
