I was wondering if anyone can recommend a really good tasting gluten free bread. My youngest son is ADHD & mildly autistic.I am going to try a gluten free diet to see if it will help him with his disorders.

My little guy is a very picky eater. He has always had a junk food free diet and eats as organic as we can afford. I don't want to waste $ on heavy tasteless breads if possible. Since I'm knew to the gluten free lifestyle, I need all the suggestions I can get!

Thanks,
Dawn in IL

Hey it may be a little late for this but we make our own bread using Gluten-Free Baking Classics by Annalise G Roberts. My son has celiacs so we are on a strict gluten free diet around here. For bread we make the english muffin recipe in a bread machine. It is so easy to do. My son also really, really likes the banana muffins and corn bread recipes. Hope this will help and that you have already gotten the diet all figured out!

You are lucky Laurie to get gluten free bread from a farmer's market! Thanks for the information about Glutino. I've tried Udi's and it is very dry. I am hoping my son will get used to the texture soon.

Thanks,

I buy flax seed bread by Glutino. Since I always toast it, I find it enjoyable. Not too heavy. I do keep it in the fridge and it can be a bit dry if eaten straight, hence why I toast. I love it.

I'm also lucky enough to have a lady at the farmer's market that makes gluten free bread that is wonderful.

Good luck
Laurie

Thank you Linda! I have a very picky eater on my hands so this transition to gluten free isn't easy. I'm so glad you told me about the tortilla shells & English muffins too! That will help give me some alternatives for making his lunches.

I really appreciate your advice & information! Hugs back to you too!

Dawn we use Ezekiel 4:9 Sesame Bread--it is a live grain bread, and we have to keep it refrigerated or frozen. The only drawback is that it is a dense bread. But tasty! My grandchildren like it. There is also a Ezekiel 4:9 Cinnamon Raisin Bread which is wonderful toasted. The other bread is also good toasted. We find ours at the health food store, and Krogers. Our Wal-mart carried it for a while but now they don't. Hope that this will help you. Good Luck! Also remember sometimes you have to continue to try a food, so that you taste will change.. Course being a child sometimes that is hard. Hugggs!! Farmgirl#946 Linda
