I have been married and cooking for my family for almost 37 years. We love homemade biscuits but you do not get them at my house as I just can not make them. I have even tried Bisquick Biscuits but that never worked either they were always hard and flat:-)
Now living at 9000 feet baking is an even bigger challenge but I do bake just not bread or biscuits. Until I bought MJF's Budget Mix. I surprised hubby with her homemade biscuits for Easter breakfast with mild gravy. Hubby was over joyed said that they were the best biscuits he had ever eaten, they were not hard and flat, they rose beautifully and were light and fluffy. They were delicious, hubby took a picture and felt I should share them with my farm girls, so you can see them on my blog.
Now I am looking forward to making a Foldover and Bakeover, wonder if I can use the budget mix to make bread since I am on a roll:-)
Farm girl Hugs,
Debbie

Debbie I think bisquick was different 36 years ago. About oh 30 years ago I remember my aunt making bisquick biscuits on busy mornings and they were yummy! And so I started making them too cause they were so easy and I thought they were pretty good. At least 10 years ago maybe more they changed the mix, cause it just was heavy after that and odd. I am not sure what they did but they changed something and I haven't been able to stand it since. Same with Crisco. We all used to love Crisco but sometime in the mid to late 80's they changed it to vegetable oil base instead of the lard, and ewe I could only taste chemicals. I remember no one else could taste the difference. When I went to the store I would try to buy all the cans that hadn't been sold of the "older" kind, and avoid the "new and improved" Crisco, after my last can of "old" Crisco I never used Crisco again, I just can't take that chemical flavor it gives every thing. But, when I would ask other people about them being able to taste that chemical flavor they never can. I could from the first can I bought of the new and improved crisco, and couldn't stand it! But, I think I may have mild aspurgers or something, cause I seem to really be able to taste and "feel" (texture on my tongue) small changes in food, and any new additions of chemicals. Doesn't seem like the majority can taste or feel them. Thankfully I'm married to some one else just like me in that respect. lol Just last year our favorite butter changed. I wasn't saying anything cause he was still eating it....but I was trying to figure out what I was going to do! Finally the next grocery store trip he says, don't get that butter any more, they changed it and I can't stand it! lol I was like you noticed? And he said yes, I said I did too but thought you didn't notice and was still liking it. And he was like no I was just eating it to get it out of the house, I don't want any more of it in the house. I was like me either, I was trying to figure out what kind we would switch to since we are both so picky on our butter (again we can taste even the slightest chemicals or additives added! lol). Thankfully we moved here to Kansas and found a local dairy that does organic butter and milk, and we are in love with their butter! We're praying they keep it as is! lol haha

I 100% agree! The budget mix biscuits are amazing! And the budget mix is very versitile! You can make cupcakes, quiche crust, pizza crust, bake overs, honey buns, pull apart bread...Pretty much anything you can think of- you can make with the budget mix. The Farm Kitchen version of the Magazine is priceless if you want to have budget mix in your kitchen.

Oh and Budget Mix pancakes come out perfect everytime. And it works perfectly as waffle mix in our waffle iron. I add a dash of vanilla to the recipe for a bit of yummy aroma. I love it!

Elaine, you will not be disappointed believe me and the Budget Mix is well worth the price as all the ingredients are in it but the liquid.
Heather, 36 years ago as a young newlywed who did not know how to cook if it were not for bisquick we would have starved to death, how times have changed. Really the Budget Mix is so worth it, try a small package first, I am glad I did, I will never make biscuits any other way.

Great looking biscuits Debbie!! Congrats on beating the altitude challenge! You can make quick breads with the Budget Mix. I have a recipe for Pepper-Cheese Beer Bread if you are interested. The recipe calls for beer but you can also use club soda.

P.S. I also sell the Pepper-Cheese Beer Bread mix on the Farm Made website and the Country Cents website, along with some other great baking mixes! I make my own baking mix and have substituted it for the Budget Mix many times!
