Just thought I'd share the photo and accomplishment DebbieSue emailed me and which I posted at the blog. She was excited and so was I. I'm giving her an "atta-girl"!! You could email her and let her know you're impressed or leave her a comment at the post! :-)

Holly, if you'll go to my website to the blog and look under 'canning and food processing' you'll find step-by-step pictorial canning instructions for waterbath and pressure canning. One of them has a video of how the pressure canner is supposed to sound. I understand your fear - was there many, many years ago, but I have now canned for 35 years. The trick is to use the right equipment, keep everything clean and to use good quality products. Just click on the blog link below if you are interested. :-)

Good work DebbieSue! My freezer's too full...I would love to try that one day. I was always afraid of not doing it right and poisoning my family! Any beginner tips you all could offer would be appreciated!

Looks great! I am in the middle of my first canning session as well. I took the tomatoes form our garden last year that I froze and made sauce. Processing now in their water bath as I speak! Hope it comes out as good as your chili!

Oh Debbie Sue! I'm envisioning the first snowfall of the coming winter and your family around a table enjoying that chili with a huge skillet of corn bread. I'm thrilled for you! Can all the soup you can manage this summer it is so nice to have GOOD ready to heat and eat soup in the winter when kids schedules are so hectic.
Bravo!

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
