It is Sunday morning, I have been up since 7:30 cooking for a Linger-Longer at church and disaster has struck!!
I baked a peach cake on top of which I sprinkled brown sugar. Putting the cake under the broiler, I set the timer for 1 minute and carried on taking care of other things. When the timer buzzed, I opened the oven door, reached for the pot holder and turned around to find the top of the cake in FLAMES!!! Oh my gosh!! It was ruined.  Just that little bit of oxygen was all it needed to catch fire.
Both of my sons just stood there laughing and stating the obvious - "Mom, you can't take that to church!!" Really? My house is full of thick, sweet smoke - not very pleasant! And the top of the cake looks like a lava field in Hawaii. Why would I not want to bring it?
Oh well - tuna noodle casserole and an MJ BakeOver will have to do!!

hey and just think people spend big money at fancy eatters to have ddessert brought flamming to the table you did it just for fun ;9(
