Posted - Mar 07 2011 : 3:15:55 PM Not sure if any of you are making your own baby food, but, I'm sure planning on it! I recently got a freezer kit for baby food, and I've been looking up recipes. Here's a link to a few from American Baby Magazine if anyone wants to try them! Our DD won't be eating solids for at least 6 months, so, we've got time, but I thought I'd share!

I'll be definitely stocking up and growing what I can!

Posted - Mar 15 2011 : 2:29:15 PM lol I'm too lazy to make "baby" food. What I usually do is just give my baby small bites/bits of what ever we are eating that I think she can handle. I did that with my 4 year old too. I never have mashed up or blended either of their foods they never even liked mashed potatoes. However, love cut up baked potatoes! lol haha I find it easier just to feed them small bites of what ever soft foods we are already eating at the meal.
But, I did have plans of making baby food and tried it on my first a few times, but she just never liked purees. Was so much happier with food in it's whole state.
Avocados and bananas were/are sooooo easy for this btw!

Posted - Mar 14 2011 : 11:23:17 AM I made a lot of Nora's food when she was little. Sometimes we would buy something simple from the store, but never those nasty meals. Yuck.

Posted - Mar 14 2011 : 08:23:40 AM I made my childrens food (25, 24, 19 now) and the oldest is making her own daughters food now ! Love that some things are just so good they get pasted down even though she works full time. Middle daughter is due in June and is planning on making her daughters baby food too. It really is not that hard to do. You Moms are doing a great thing. Tammyb

Posted - Mar 10 2011 : 08:21:07 AM My kids are too old now, but I always made my own. I want to know what I'm feeding my children! (still do!) Freezing individually in ice cube trays is perfect! I'm so glad someone said "Feed Me I'm Yours". It's the perfect book for when you have small kids! lisalisa |

Posted - Mar 09 2011 : 07:35:55 AM I always made my own baby food and simply froze it in ice cube trays, worked great and each one was about a serving size. Between my pressure cooker and the blender it was really easy. Kathy |

Posted - Mar 08 2011 : 09:47:26 AM I always used my immersion blender and just blended up something we were having with our dinner. It was so easy and my son loved everything!

Posted - Mar 07 2011 : 7:26:36 PM I made all my own baby food too. Always took the baby food grinder with me where ever we went. I can't imagine using the jarred stuff either - it tastes awful.
