I have been making my own brown sugar for about a year now. I kept thinking about making powdered sugar but tried it once and it didnt work well. I did it this weekend in the blender and it is sooo easy I am never going back to store bought. Now what else can I make at home?

I don't make my brown sugar up ahead of time. If my recipe calls for 1 cup light brown sugar, when I'm making it I just put in one cup white sugar and one and one-half tablespoons of molasses. This makess a light brown sugar substitute. For dark brown sugar I put about three tablespoons in with one cup white sugar. Hope this works for you.

Brown Sugar...
I dont have measurement I eyeball it
I put about 2 cups white sugar and about 1/4 cup unsulfured pure blackstrap Molasses in food processor and process until combined and kind of dry. You can make it as dark or light as you want I tried regular molasses but it was to wet and runny the blackstrap works the best.
