Does anyone know where I could find popcorn without the hulls ? my son has Crohns disease and we are working on a low residue diet with him, he cannot have any kind of seed, nut, hull, skin etc. he has a taste for popcorn so I told him I would see if I could find it

I personally like the no more naked popcorn (kearnal seasoning) brand. It can be bought at a lot of local grocery stores. I think I found it at HEB on the east coast, and Krogers here in the midwest. It comes in a small resealable bag. You can also buy it from their website.

It is advertised as hull-less yet I found some still had hulls, but they were very soft, and didn't get stuck in my teeth or gut. They were not as hard and sharp etc as regular popcorn.

My husband does not like the flavor of it but he is really picky. I found the flavor I must admit not as good as the big name brands, but I like not having it stuck in my gums, teeth and gut! So it's not so bad tasting that I wouldn't eat it! It's worth the small flavor difference in my opinion! I make it in a whirly pop which I think makes it taste better. I use lard instead of oil to make it, again I think that makes it taste better and gives it such a better texture!

I'll be planting hull-less popcorn this year too. In the past I've planted the Japanese White hull-less and liked it. I was considering buying from Sand Hill Preservation (although their website kind of scares me - it doesn't shout customer service) But they do seem to carry a larger variety of kinds...

After looking at the Amish site I think that what they are selling is plain white popcorn vs. the yellow most people buy. The white popcorn is all we buy because of it pretty much hull free. It can be found at most regular grocery stores. JoAnn

Hi Patrica, I love, love, love popcorn and I know they make popcorn as I have had some and it is wonderful. I bought some in Kelona, Iowa from the Amish, and I also bought some in a little town not too far from me that specializes in popcorn. Next time I am going that way I will stop in and see if I can get you a bag. Check on line too you might be able to fine someone that carries it.

Hugs,
Debbie

I have never heard of hull-less popcorn. But what about substituting the ceral "Puffed Rice" instead?
