Posted - Jan 23 2011 : 09:51:16 AM I am going to make today a baking day! I am going to freeze a new round of pancakes and biscuits. I think I might explore some of the recipes in the Farm Kitchen issue of the Magazine. I have always wanted to make the muffin pan cinnamon rolls and such...Yummy!

Posted - Jan 31 2011 : 03:52:31 AM That's awesome, KD! I've always wanted a brick oven, just to make an indian bread called naan. Everything is so much better in a wood fired oven!

We have a wood fired brick oven that we share with as many people as we can . It's a super fun way to bake. Together!

Posted - Jan 26 2011 : 08:16:35 AM Valerie,
Nice to hear from a neighbor! I know all about cat-heads and have made many in my day. I have an iron skillet dedicated to biscuits! I've never tried freezing them and wonder if they may have to be yeast based in order to rise after thawing. I've always just made them fresh - and don't know the science behind the buttermilk & baking powder (what I use.) Good luck - and I hope you find the answer!

Posted - Jan 23 2011 : 2:04:13 PM Does anyone have a recipe for freezer biscuits that actually will rise when I take them out and bake them. All of the one's I have ever made and froze don't rise worth a hoot, and my husband likes those really big and fluffy cat head biscuits. Thanks for your help!
Today is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.
