Hey everyone
My landlord gave me a bottle of root beer that you mix together with yeast and warm water. I wanted to know if these mug jars would be good to use for the storage
http://www.lehmans.com/store/Kitchen___Helpers_and_Accessories___Utensils_and_Tools___Glass_Canning_Jar_Mugs__em_Set_of_4__em____1097255?Args=

I planned on letting them sit for the 6-10 days required and then popping them in the fridge.

Thanks for the input,
Em

Hey ladies,
We put them in the glass bottles and then in a plastic bin (so no shards of glass would come flying at me while cooking). I will let you know if we have any eruptions :)

As for what I used, I used an extract like this one http://www.homebrewers.com/product/9100/Homemade-Root-Beer-Extract.html?meta=GBASE&metacpg=9100

Here is for some homemade stuff if you want http://www.learningherbs.com/news_issue_25.html

I would love to have a root beer recipe. I have always wanted to try it myself. Thanks girls.

Today is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.

I agree with Michele. I made rootbeer one time and the recipe told me to put it in 2 liter plastic bottles and lay it in the bathtub on it's side just in case it were to explode. It did just fine.

God is so good. !!!

I just want to make sure that the jars will not explode on me :)

Not sure on your question. But I make root beer in a clean 2 liter bottle. You got to have a cap on it, and beable to squeeze the bottle. It is done when you can't squeeze the bottle, it is hard. Hope that helps

Michele
