Posted - Jan 08 2011 : 3:29:18 PM I made snow ice cream with the kids tonight. It was really fun. Mix together a large bowl of fresh snow, one cup of sugar, one Tbsp vanilla and enough milk or heavy cream to make it the consistency of ice cream. Surprisingly yummy!

Posted - Jan 10 2011 : 4:08:47 PM We made real SNOW cones not too long ago. I had some snow cone syrup that I got on sale from summer (awful stuff, but the kids love it) and they had so much fun!!! We'll have to try the ice cream.

Posted - Jan 09 2011 : 08:01:03 AM Oh...this is one of my favorite childhood memories! My dad would would make us a bowl. I used to do it for my kids. And they did it for their kids. We now live in the country, and I think of it every once in awhile when I see a beautiful new snow. (caution: yellow snow does not mean lemon flavor) (brothers can be like that, you know.)

Posted - Jan 09 2011 : 06:23:50 AM My kids use to (well the 18 yo still does) make a snow slurpie where they they would get a glass full of fresh snow and then pour pop/soda over it. He was making these a couple weeks ago and pour Mt. Dew over the snow.
