Posted - Dec 29 2010 : 8:55:30 PM Some of us had a great time meeting the challenge of baking something new to us in the way of breads last month. I decided to make English Muffins for the first time and had a ball. The sponge is really creepy because it squirms and bubbles and bloops at you, but the results were awesome. I promised that I would show how they are made and so I finally got the pictures posted at the blog if anyone is interested. You can get to the story by going to www.oklahomapastrycloth.com/blog/?page_id=2 where you will click on either "read this month's articles" or on the December link. We had English Muffins just this morning! I haven't bought a single one at the store since! :-)

Posted - Dec 30 2010 : 06:27:34 AM Karen, yes crumpets are similar but isn't the batter a little thinner? Congrats on making them. That's my next attempt. It IS fun trying all of this new stuff. I'm psyched! :-)

Posted - Dec 30 2010 : 06:11:19 AM Oh Mary Beth those sound delicious!
I made crumpets the other day, which are similar (or pretty much the same?). I love making new things--especially when they turn out well. ; )
