Posted - Jun 14 2006 : 05:56:35 AM My cucumbers are riping, anyone make pickles? If so, how do you do it? Do you brine them in a crock or pack raw cucumbers in glass jars with pickling spices and process? |

Posted - Jun 14 2006 : 10:21:19 AM lucky you!! I do make dills and relish and bread and butter pickles. I don't brine them in a crock..I do the raw kind...of course the bread and butter pickles are cooked first..but you probably knew that...we won't have ripe cukes until late July or early August! I can hardly wait..one of my favorite veggies for sure. And one of the first things I learned to can....35 years ago (yikes!! showing my age!)
