Posted - Dec 08 2010 : 05:22:04 AM I just got the call that the buck that my husband got is all cut up, packaged and ready for pick up! I am very excited as I love venison, and it has been a while since we've had any! Actually, we've never had a whole deer, just whatever people have given us...I love my meatballs made with half venison, but other than that could use some good recipes. So, if you have a good recipe that you like for venison, could you share it with me? Thanks!

Posted - Dec 08 2010 : 3:51:02 PM I love it in all day stew! I have also done some really long cooked ribs in the crockpot. They were amazing! We mixed sweet baby rays honey bbq and sweet baby rays rasberry chipolte bbq with a little water and let them roll all day. They were fallin apart and so sweet!

Posted - Dec 08 2010 : 09:39:15 AM We eat mostly venison or elk. I have found that it substitutes nicely for beef. Sometimes you may need to tenderize the steaks, unless they are backstrap. And hamburger is hamburger! The venison burger may not hold together as nicely in patties since it's a lean meat to begin with.
