Well, it's 9:35 and the day has been most productive. You'd never know that the dining room had been half concrete and half wood (it's fixed!), all the stuff scattered over the ENTIRE house is put up, the vacuuming is done (I love my hubby. He is so sweet. He did ALL the vacuuming!) Still have to dust, but have just finished a pecan pie, a pumpkin pie, candied sweet potatoes and a pasta salad. Got the cornbread baked for dressing tomorrow and am getting ready to make refrigerator roll dough to sit overnight. Tomorrow's baking will be the dressing, the turkey, apple crisp, Green beans, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, the rolls, 7 layer salad, Holy Smoke Pie, Paula Dean's Not Yo' Mama Banana Pudding, and homemade cranberry relish. And for the pièce de resistance - Smoked sausages baked on homemade sauerkraut!! Yep, havin' that sauerkraut again! :-) <giggle> Got 13 BIG mouths to feed.

My list of what I have done is easier to list, cranberry fruit conserve, done. That's it for today! Everything else will be done through the day tomorrow. I'm having dinner around 5 p.m. and my menu is all fresh ingredients that need to be made just prior to dinner, except for roasting the turkey!

Have a wonderful baking, cooking and enjoying Thanksgiving!

Cathy and Karla, thank you! The good news is that my dear hubby finished the floor at midnight and got furniture put back into place and I stayed up until nearly 2 getting everything put back in. I have a dining room table now!! Yayyyy! And all of the china and crystal is out of the living room floor. Yippeee. Now I just have to get the rest of the house cleaned and I can start cooking in a little bit. God is good! :-)

Sounds like I'm not alone here with a ton of things to still do!! lol!!
I have buttermilk wheat bread rising and "sweet potato rolls" dough out of the frig on the counter for it's last rising. Going to make pies now ~ Pecan and Pumpkin. I'm using pumpkin from my freezer that I cooked up, never used that in pie before. Hope it works :) Then, I need to put together green bean casserole and sweet potatoes.
Yes! my turkey has thawing in the frig since Monday:) whee! after all that I need to make dinner for tonight - groan!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!!

Cooking hasn't even been thought about. Sigh. Just kill me. :-) No, it'll bet done and will all be great. It just seems like it won't. And I am thankful for my new floor and my new room! Yay.

I still have alot to do...turkey thawing in the fridge, rolls made, but that is about it. I will be baking the pumpkin to make my pies tomorrow and hopefully baking them tomorrow night if the power stays on. We have blizzard warnings tonight. Supposed to be all good by Thursday though..so I don't think this will be the year I roast the turkey in my wood cookstove.
I have all the groceries I will need ready so no store trip planned except the usual trip for milk...we are always buying milk! I can hardly wait for Mona to calve (it will be quite some time) so we will have all the fresh milk we can use again!! With my daycare and 4 teenagers in the house we go through at least 2 gallons a day...some days more!
WE have 4 guests coming (all adults) for dinner on Thursday...so there will be 10 of us here. I got a 23 lb turkey. In case there arn't alot of leftovers (you never know with all the teenagers here!) I have a 12 pounder in the freezer too.

I have everything to do yet but it's just me...LOL! So it shouldn't be too hard but I still make a turkey and all the trimmings. I love it...the turkey is defrosted, I think, so I'll prep it tomorrow, I baked my last pumpkin today from the garden so tomorrow will be puree and toast the seeds and make the pie. I 'll make my 24 hour salad tomorrow and probably the green bean casserole and scalloped corn to put in the frig, bread is rising overnight and stuffing to be made and potatoes to be peeled and put in water and sweet potato casserole....I think that's it? I'm sure I've forgotten something. I'd invite people over but right now I have no place for them to sit as I'm "rearranging" things in the house. My kitchen table is out in the unheated porch and the dining room has been Santa's workshop for awhile now until I get my sewing room ready....woe is me! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

And...why is it that dinner is over in 20-minutes flat?? Arrrrghhhh!!

Uggh-

I did get to make some awesome plum bread in those little mini loaf pans this afternoon-did a massive amount of laundry and whipped 24 jars of shea butter (labeled and everything) but preparation for Thursday's Thanksgiving dinner...Nothing! Nada! Zip! Donut babe!!

Tomorrow DH will do the pies and I have Featherbeds (potato rolls) to make in the morning/afternoon--I guess I could chop the celery and onions and put those in the fridge and make the cornbread for my cornbread and sausage dressing-Then it's all downhill from there-LOL!

Gee--I hate to be rushed but this week seems to be flying by!
